4.) My question that I posted on linkedin.com is the following: " Why do companies all new "employees" to work at there business BEFORE completing there background check? If the results come back as not being what the employer wants, then the person gets fired after only being at work for a couple days.

5.) (Found on Wikipedia) "Blackboard Inc. is an enterprise software company with its corporate headquarters in Washington, D.C.[4] and is primarily known as a developer of education software, in particular learning management systems. 6.) I typed in "E-Government" on the OECD website and pulled up over 28,000 stories. Some of the ones that I found interesting are the following: "Public Sector Inovattion & E-Government", "Checklist for E-Government", "Measuring & Evaluating E-Government in Arab countries", "E-Government In Finland" and "Publications on E-Government"

7.) I typed in "E-Government" on the FCW website and the latest story displayed was from February 2013, titled,  "Revamped government websites boost citizen satisfaction". I coulnd't find a B2G corner on the website.

8.)

9.)

10.)

11.) Amazon.com --> the Kindle Paperweight seemed like the best deal to me. For $119.00 (plus shipping & handling), you get a 6' e-reader that has built in glare resistance,  8 week battery life, Wi-Fi capability and over 180,000 titles that you can't find anywhere else.

Sony.com---> well considering that the products on there weren't listed by there manufactuer name but instead by there product number. Why they have it set up like this I don't really understand it. The one that I thought was best is the following: Product #PRST2HBC. For $129 (plus shipping and handling), this e-reader has wireless public library downloads, various book titles and great screen display.

12.) When i went to wi5connect.com and typed in "products" in the websites search box, it listed no entries.

Project Ideas

I decided to do my "mock" web company on shoes (of course0. As a requirement, I was told to look up up to 5 websites that are similar to what I want to do...and they are as follows:

1.) Amazon --> I have personally shopped from this website and i love everything about it from the ease of use to the wide selection of shoes to choose from. This webiste is user friendly, on both online and on the mobile app. Its organized neatly and offers a lot of different options for the buyer to chose from.

2.) Foot Locker --> I chose this webiste because they have all of the top name brand shoes that you would find in the store online and sometimes at a discounted price. The only thing that I didn't like about the website is the fact that it has a black background. If you are browersing around the site, looking to make a purchase, that dark background can hurt your eyes after awhile.

3.) Finish Line --> I chose this webiste because they have all of the top name brand shoes that you would find in the store online and sometimes at a discounted price. The website was bright and allowed you to easily search for shoes by gender, size, color and brand.

4.) Converses --> my favorite shoe company andmy favorite shoe site! I definitely love this website and everything about it!

5.) DSW --> this is a website that I am new to and I look forward to making purchases from it. I like the view of the website. The appearance is very bright and clean and is very easy to use.

Chapter 4 questions (continued)

9.) To me, these websites are way to cluttered for them to even be considered to be an advertising webiste. There was just way too much going for me to try and comprehend what they were even about. I think that anything dealing with puttings ads out on the television, radio, websites and magazines is a very productive and good way to get the word out about a product or service.

10.) I think that this type of activity was fun and really interactive. Even though i am not a female, i can see where a girl would be on this webiste for hours at a time changing there virtual haircolor to whatever color they like. I definitely think that it could increase sales because it allows women to see what there haircolor looks like before they buy it and they would then go out and change there hair.

11.) Like i keep saying before, all these webistes are way to cluttered with randomness for me to even be able to determine what's it even about.

12.) Linkedin.com is a webiste that links you to professional companies and businesses across your network. They can link you to new schools to attend, internships and potential jobs that might interest you to work at. They have various marketing and advertising promos on there to interest just about anyone.

13.) Zoomerang.com conducts different types of online surveys: customer surveys, employee surveys, student surveys and surveys for social networks like Facebook.

14.) Pewinternet.org -- >
The Pew Internet & American Life Project is one of seven projects that make up the Pew Research Center, a nonpartisan, nonprofit "fact tank" that provides information on the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. The Project produces reports exploring the impact of the internet on families, communities, work and home, daily life, education, health care, and civic and political life.

Pewresearch.org --> Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. It conducts public opinion polling, demographic research, media content analysis and other empirical social science research. Pew Research does not take policy positions. It is a subsidiary of The Pew Charitable Trusts.

15.) The website doesn't exist anymore. It redirects you to an alternate website.

Chapter 4 questions

1.) Netflix is a very great marketing channel, esepcially for the entertainment industry. They offer thousands upon thousands of multi-media dvds to entertain just about any and everyone.

2.) Nielson.com is a marketing company that specializes in building career opportunities, developing leadership skills, community and public affairs, and investor relations.

3.) mySimon.com really reminds me of another version of websites like Amazon.com and/or ebay.com. They offer online shopping to those that don't want to go outside to do there shopping. They provide just about any and everything that you can think of from bedroom accessories, kitchen needs and entertainment items. I think that this company would do good in marketing because they offer a lot for the consumer to select from.

4.)

espn.go.com -- the ones on here are for the newest football games to come out.
